According to the EU Commission regulation No 37/2010 on active substances and their maximum residue limits in foodstuffs, the bioactive polysaccharides are classified as an allowed substance.
The bioactive polysaccharides work without disturbing beneficial microflora
The bioactive polysaccharides blocks microbial adhesion through a physical mode of action, without affecting microbial viability. It directly neutralizes pathogens and alleviates complaints related to microbial dysbiosis, targeting only undesired pathological microbial processes by preventing adherence and colonization.
With no direct microbicidal activity, the bioactive polysaccharides correct the healthy microbiota without disturbing beneficial microflora, making the development of resistance highly unlikely.
